This is the July subscription coffee!
The first of two lots we secured through the Long Miles Coffee private auction this year! Coffee auctions are neat. You taste all of the offerings and then spend a few days bidding for the ones you like. Roasters from all over the world participate. If you’re lucky enough to win then that lot is exclusive to you. Here we have a natural processed red bourbon.
The farms on Nkonge Hill are at least 2000masl and the elevation is definitely apparent in this bean. It’s very dense and required a pedal to the metal approach in the roaster. And also it tastes fantastic. The flavors are solidly red. Think raspberries, red currents, and hibiscus. The acidity is sparkling with the perfect combination of malic and citric for an eminently drinkable cup. Seriously, it’s 100 degrees outside and this coffee still manages to be refreshing. That’s a good time to me.
