BURUNDI - MIKUBA HILL - WASHED BOURBON

The second of two lots we secured through the Long Miles Coffee private auction this year! This one is a traditional washed bourbon

This coffee is actually everything I want from this region. The aroma is so clean and ripe. It entices you with promises of a dense and sweet cup from the moment of grinding. The brew is complex and incredibly well structured with elegant acidity and a heavy body. It leans malic, with jammy notes of apricot, apple, and red grape. But my favorite thing here is the tactile. Every time I’ve had this coffee, the full and syrupy mouthfeel has caught me off guard. It’s heavy, but not overbearing. The crisp acidity keeps the cup balanced while you’re left with the sugary aftertaste taunting you to take another a sip. Major shout out to Long Miles Coffee this year for providing us with two very excellent beans and some very good times.
