NICARAGUA - LA BASTILLA - WASHED MARAGOGYPE

$22.00

La Bastilla double dip? Sure, why not! We don’t see many maragogype lots, but it’s a topical variety for Ghost this year. My brewers cup coffee was a maragogype this past year. We’ve been blown away at the complexity it offers when it’s grown at high elevations and given the same care as more famous varieties. This is a traditional washed lot, and it may be my favorite coffee of the summer.

The ripe stone fruit quality of this coffee is undeniable. It’s deep, rich, and immensely satisfying to drink. It starts as plum and trends to pomegranate with cooling. It’s juicy and refreshing in a way that only washed coffees can be. Every sip makes me want to take another sip. And every sip reveals a new flavor. Keep going and you’ll find caramel sweetness and mild hazelnut lurking in the after taste. It’s great. Coffee like this are good times for me personally. Hopefully for yinz too.
